Where to hunt hogs in north central Florida?

by Jim
(Tampa, FL)

December 1, 2010, QUESTION: Hello: Where do you recommend hunting hogs in north central Florida? Thanks, Jim

ANSWER:
Good to hear from you, Jim:
As the north central region of Florida is not my usual stomping grounds, I have no personal experience hunting hogs in that region. But since your question came after the opener of general gun season, and after researching all the areas that make any mention of hogs, I found that the only area that does not require a quota permit to hunt hogs at this time is the Osceola Wildlife Management Area. Here is a link to the brochure:

Here is a link to the wildlife management areas in the north central region, some of which may still have quota permits available. You will need to apply to find out.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your hunting!
