Where can I hunt wild boar in Tallahassee area?

by Brad
(Tallahassee, Florida)

August 3, 2010, QUESTION: I'm new to Tallahassee and Florida and am looking for some places to hunt wild boar on public land. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brad

ANSWER: Welcome to Tallahassee, Brad. You've picked a great State to live in as far as hunting goes. Florida has many public wildlife management areas.

There is an abundance of wild hogs on portions of Ochlockonee River and Joe Budd Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in Northwest Florida, and several hunting opportunities will be available during the coming months in an effort to reduce hog populations.

See the recent news release from the Florida Wildlife Commission.

For more information on these great hunting areas, click here for Joe Budd WMA and here for Ochlockonee River WMA.

Another visitor to our website also asked about hunting wild hogs in Florida. You can see my response to his question here: www.hunting-with-kenny.com/where-can-i-hunt-wild-hogs-in-florida.html.
