What part of Tate's Hell is best for gobblers?

by Gobbler-Hungry Hunter

March 14, 2012, QUESTION: What part of Tate's Hell is best for gobblers?

Gobbler-Hungry Hunter: If you're looking for long-beards in Tate's Hell Wildlife Management Area or Womack Creek Wildlife Management Area, you must already have your quota permit. If not, be sure to sign up for a quota permit here.

Now, back to looking for gobblers. I have found more gobblers along the Crooked River and the New River in areas where the numbered roads come within, plus or minus, a half mile of the rivers. Another choice location is along the numbered roads that come within two miles of Highway 98.

You can find more information about Tate's Hell and Tate's Hell/Womack Creek Wildlife Management Areas here. At the bottom this that page, you can find links to the hunting regulations brochures for both these WMAs.

I hope this helps you get on a bird.
