The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is offering a free hunter safety course in Leon County.
The course will be conducted in the second-floor conference room of the Farris Bryant Building, 620 S. Meridian St., Tallahassee. Instruction will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14, 16, 21, and 23. The range portion of the class will be on Sept. 25.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Students should bring a pencil and paper with them to take notes.
Successful completion of an approved hunter safety course is required for everyone born on or after June 1, 1975, before they can purchase a Florida hunting license. The FWC course satisfies hunter safety training requirements for all other states and Canadian provinces.
