Florida record for
typical white tail deer?

by Kenneth
(Florida)

December 3, 2010, QUESTION: What is the typical Florida record for a typical white tailed buck killed with a compound bow? Thank You very much - Kenneth.

ANSWER:
Kenneth: The Florida Buck Registry does not have a category specifically for compound bows. Under the "Archery" category, David McQueen killed a 157-inch net score typical deer in Alachua County on 10/12/2008.

As a footnote, James Stovall killed a 206-inch net score, non-typical deer, in Pasco County on 09/25/1999, with a compound bow.

I hope this gives you something to strive for so that we can see your name at the top of the Florida Buck Registry in the Archery category. Be sure to mention if you use a compound bow.

Good hunting!
