Deer hunting with dogs in the Ocala WMA

by Martha

September 21, 2010, QUESTION: What are the dates of deer season in the Ocala National Forest with the use of dogs?
ANSWER: November 13, 2010 through January 9, 2011, during the general gun season, are the dates for hunting deer with the use of dogs in the Ocala National Forest. There are, however, some restrictions that apply. Hunting deer with dogs is only allowed in the Pipeline and Church Lake units during the general gun season, but not during the general gun still season (November 27, 2010 through December 5, 2010) in the Church Lake Unit.

Here is the Link to the Ocala Wildlife Management Area Regulations brochure. It contains additional information regarding hunting with dogs in the Ocala WMA. On page 4 of the brochure is a map which identifies the Pipeline and Church Lake units.

I hope this answers your question. Good luck with your hunts!
